Have you ever thought of trying a new sport for the new year? Don’t wait any longer. It is a great way to break up your routine. Additionally a new sport will challenge you physically, mentally and even socially. So why not try a new sport as your New Years resolution?

New impulses for your training routine

Your body needs to be constantly challenged to improve and get better. Trying out new sports and activities is great to mix up your training routine and give your body new impulses. Mixing up your routine is detrimental for your progress, and trying out a new sport can help you with that. Once you start and get your first delayed onset muscle soreness you will know that you used muscles you have not used in a long time.

It will challenge you mentally!

Trying out something new always means leaving your comfort zone. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But by trying out a new sport there is always a chance that you will fail or not be good at the sport. Maybe it also means getting over your fear of heights or cold. By stepping outside your comfort zone and trying a new activity you will get over that initial fear. You might or might not like the activity, but you already became a different person just by trying.

Trying a new sport is social!

Getting all your friends together for a new, fun activity sounds amazing? It absolutely is. You will laugh at each other’s fails, and celebrate each other’s progress. Even if you don’t have any friends to do it with you, a new activity is a great opportunity to meet new people. Are you planning to try a new sport in 2018? Let me know in the comments below.
