I am currently tapering for my 6th Marathon. Previously I always had a hard time tapering before a race. I knew that a good taper period where you scale back on volume and intensity is essential to reach peak performance level on race day. However I always struggled with normal taper plans because I felt like tapering meant doing less or even nothing and therefore not contributing towards my goal.
Meeting friends from all over the world, running around a beautiful lake in Bavaria, drinking bavarian beer at Oktoberfest. That is what the Tegernsee Half Marathon with my friends from Adidas Runners was all about.
The Mozart100 race takes place in the beautiful town of Salzburg, Austria. They offer various distances, this year a 12.5km City Trail, the 30km Scenic Light Trail (that I did), the 42km Marathon trail, the 62km Scenic Trail and the classic 105 Trail. This one is very popular, as it is also a Western States 100 qualifying race.
Beginning of June I ran my first trail race in Austria: 23km at the Hochkönigman Trail Running Event.
Travel& Accessibility to the Hochkönigman Trail Running Event
The Hochkönigman Trail Running Race is located in the area of a mountain called Hochkönig, which means “High King” in English. It starts and ends in Maria Alm, which is just 5km East of Saalfelden.
