Europe’s Toughest Mudder Berlin

Europe’s Toughest Mudder Berlin

Toughest Mudder 8 hour night race took place in Germany. They called it „Berlin“, but it was definitely not Berlin. It was the middle of nowhere in former Eastern Germany, around a 2 hour drive south of Berlin.

But this did not stop around 500 brave mudders to make it there and take up the challenge of running 5 mile laps throughout the night. While most of them were newbies to this race, it was already my third one (I completed the Toughest Mudder Midlands twice before), and it served as a training for World’s Toughest Mudder in November. My World’s Toughest Mudder gear list

My World’s Toughest Mudder gear list

When I first signed up for World’s Toughest Mudder I was really confused about what to use for this grueling 24h race (you can read about my experience here). As this race is equally about gear as it is about training (you can check out my post about WTM training here), I decided to publish my World’s Toughest Mudder gear list here on my blog and keep it updated regularly. You can also find some great ressources about the World’s Toughest Mudder equipment on the WTM Community Facebook group. Please bear in mind that a lot of the gear also depends on individual preferences.

Reykjavik Marathon

Reykjavik Marathon

Iceland has always been on my travel bucket list. When I heard there was a Marathon in Reykjavik happening in August, I absolutely had to go for my 12 Marathons in 12 months charity project. And I have to say that Reykjavik Marathon did not disappoint. The people were incredibly friendly, the scenery was fantastic and it was organized perfectly. There is not only the Reykjavik Marathon, but also a Half Marathon, a 10km and several fun runs. So even if you are not into running the full 42.2 km distance, it is a good reason to travel to Iceland. And the best thing: later that day the famous Cultural Night is happening, with concerts and art installations taking place all over town, finishing with giant fireworks.

Königsschlösser Romantik Marathon Füssen

Königsschlösser Romantik Marathon Füssen

You might have never heard of the German town Füssen. But you’ve probably heard of Neuschwanstein castle, the famous castle of King Ludwig of Bavaria, which is located nearby. The Königsschlösser Romantik Marathon is a small local race that covers exactly this area and runs past the pretty castles and lakes of the Füssen area. They offer a Half Marathon and 10km race on Saturday, as well as a Marathon on Sunday. I ran it as marathon no. 8 of my 12 Marathons in 12 months project, and really enjoyed the castle view (after Disney castle, Prague castle and Liechtenstein Vaduz castle).
