Dubai Marathon always takes place in winter when temperatures are bearable, at least for the people living there. On races weekend there is a quite large 10 km race happening, but also the Marathon with less than 3000 participants. The course is quite flat, and it holds the 3rd fastest course record time worldwide.
Since I started running doing a RunDisney event was on my bucket list. So for my 32nd birthday I flew to Orlando to run the Disney World Marathon. The Disney World Marathon Weekend is the biggest event weekend of RunDisney. It is comprised of four runs: 5 km on Thursday, 10 km on Friday, a Half Marathon on Saturday and the full Disney World Marathon on Sunday. If you are slightly crazy you might do the Goofy Challenge, which is the Half and the Full Marathon. Or the Dopey Challenge, which is all 4 races on one weekend.
I just came back from the US where I competed at World’s Toughest Mudder, a grueling 24 h Obstacle Course Race in the desert outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. I wanted to run this race for a while now, and it was my big challenge for 2017. It was definitely one of the best, but also hardest experiences of my life, and I am beyond happy that I reached my personal goal of 50 miles as well as finishing the full 24 hours. The New York City Marathon is the biggest and probably most famous Marathon in the world. Over 50,000 participants each year race the 42.2 km or 26.2 miles through all 5 boroughs of the big apple. I had the chance to run in with my Dad on November 5th 2017, who finished his first Marathon at the age of 69.
Beginning of September I took part in the Spartan Race Oberndorf in Tirol. It was my third time doing this race, and I have to say that it is by far my favorite Spartan Race in Europe. The course is really tough and the mountain views are absolutely jawdropping. In case you like Spartan Races I highly recommend this one in Oberndorf. You can find more information here.
